How to PAUSE for Grief at Work: An introduction to our course for workplaces

“How to PAUSE for Grief at Work” is an exciting new course that is designed to support workplace leaders (HR Managers, People Managers, ERG Leaders, and C-Suite) who want to better care for their employees navigating grief, death, serious illness, and bereavement leave. This free webinar is an introduction to and overview of the course and all of it’s components, during which you’ll also get to meet the course creator, PAUSE’s Executive Director and Founder, Alica Forneret. Grief, death, and intersectionality: A workshop exploring how who we are impacts how we grieve and die

Date: May 21st
TIme: 9am-12pm PT / 12pm-3pm ET

In this highly interactive, engaging, and informative 3-hour online workshop, PAUSE Executive Director and Founder, Alica Forneret, will cover how identity impacts the death, dying, and grief experience. Together, we will explore how race, culture, and other identity markers can influence the type of support providers can offer to their clients. Attendees should be prepared to engage in individual exercises to examine their own identity and how it’s impacted their personal grief experience, as well as small group work and large group discussions to center storytelling and resourcing from community. Leading through loss: A workshop series for ERG Leaders (and other ‘space holders’, workplace leaders, and professionals)

These workshops are for you if: 

  • Your role involves supporting folks through grief, death, and bereavement leave.

  • You’re passionate about making your workplace or other workplaces safer and more inclusive for those who are grieving or navigating death/loss.

  • You feel like you’re ill-equipped by your workplace when it comes to supporting folks that you manage or interact with.

  • You fit the description of the folks we’re talking about serving and you want to learn more about how you can advocate for better care and resources at your workplace. 

Pt 1. Leading through loss: Exploring intersections of grief, death, and identity ~ Workshop #1 “Exploring intersections of grief, race, and identity” will cover how someone’s unique identity as a Person of Color can impact their experience with grief, death, and bereavement leave. And how employers, leaders, and colleagues can best support the folks in their community with culturally-sensitive knowledge and resources.

Pt 2.2 Leading through loss: Navigating life while caring for aging / ill family ~ Workshop #2.2 “Navigating end-of-life, grief, and work while caregiving for aging or seriously ill family/community members” will cover grief, death, and serious illness considerations for people who are working while also caregiving for older adults, seriously ill folks, and anyone facing end-of-life. We’ll also discuss how employers, leaders, and colleagues can best support the folks in their community that are straddling work and caregiving responsibilities.
